Our school news

Junee North Public School is busy throughout the entire school year. From the first week back to school, to sporting events and being involved with our community. Stay connected with all that our students achieve.

Junee North Public Schools 2026 leaders

We are proud to introduce our 2026 school leaders, including our school captains, vice captains, house captains, as well as our Student Representative Council leaders. These students have already shown great responsibility, teamwork and commitment to our school community. They are wonderful role models for all students and demonstrate our school values in everything they do. Our staff are looking forward to working alongside them throughout the year as they grow in their leadership roles.

JNPS swimming carnival

Our recent swimming carnival was a fantastic day, with all students giving their best in the pool and showing great enthusiasm and sportsmanship. It was wonderful to see so many parents and carers supporting the event, and we sincerely thank our volunteers for their time and help throughout the day. Congratulations to all students who received awards for their efforts and achievements. We are very proud of everyone for having a go and making the day such a success.

Kindergarten 2026

Kindergarten 2026 has made a wonderful start to school, settling into their new classroom routines with confidence and big smiles. They have loved getting to know their teacher, Mrs White, and have enjoyed every learning experience over the first few weeks. We are also very proud to share that Kindergarten has won Junee Norths Attendance Champions award, achieving the highest attendance percentage of all classes! We run this award to encourage students to come to school everyday so they don’t miss important learning. Regular attendance helps children stay connected, build strong routines and achieve their best.

Staff professional learning

On Friday the 30th January, Eurongilly Public and Illabo Public School joined the staff at Junee North for professional learning in Aboriginal language and Culture. We were fortunate enough to have Juanita Hickson (SEO2) from Griffith Office, Kerrilee Philp (AEO) and Brenton Hawken (SEO1) deliver a 3 hour introduction on embedding Aboriginal language and culture into the curriculum. Staff at Junee North will continue to adapt the curriculum content for all students, ensuring their learning opportunities and experiences are relevant and inclusive.

Year 1 first week back

Our year 1 students have had a wonderful start to the school year, returning with enthusiasm, greeted by our new teacher, Miss Willis. Excited to see their friends again, they are now ready to begin the year ahead, approaching their learning with confidence, curiosity, and a sense of belonging.
